Graduation Requirement - 1/2 Credit: Students address issues in 7 topic areas that include Mental Health, Nutrition and Fitness, Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs, Personal and Consumer Health, Safety and Injury Prevention, Family Life and Human Sexuality, and Disease Prevention and Control.
Although this course is required for graduation, it contains two units, Family Life and Human Sexuality and AIDS Prevention education that require parental permission for students under age 18 who participate in these units. Permission forms will be distributed in all classes.
Parent Review Night
Thursday, September 28, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Room 119E, parents of students enrolled in FIRST semester health classes are invited to stop by and preview those instructional materials used in the Family Life & Human Sexuality and Aids Prevention Education Units. Health teachers will be available to discuss curriculum and answer questions at this time.
Parent Review Night for students enrolled in SECOND semester health class will be in Room 119E on Thursday, February 28, 2007, from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. The same format as the first semester night will be followed.
