Art History, Advanced Placement A - 1/2 credit
This course provides introductory college-level art history instruction to students who have done well in other studies in the humanities. Students will study the evolution of western and non-European art in contemporary society through an examination of the major forms of visual expression in world cultures. Architecture, sculpture, painting, and the decorative arts are analyzed within a historical and cultural context. The content of the Semester A course will focus on the ancient through the medieval periods of history.
Art History, Advanced Placement B - 1/2 credit
Prerequisite: Attainment of the outcomes of Art History, Advanced Placement A
Second semester emphasizes the period from the Renaissance to the present.
