Studio 3 and AP Studio Art

Studio Art. 3A - Grade 12 - 1/2 credit
Prerequisite: Attainment of the outcomes of Studio Art. 2A and 2B
Students may concentrate on a medium and art form of their choice using both assigned and self-selected subject matter. Students participate in group critiques and present their work in a portfolio. A sketch book and a brief research paper are required.

Studio Art. 3B - Grade 12 - 1/2 credit
Prerequisite: Attainment of the outcomes of Studio Art. 3A
Students focus on the preparation and presentation of their art work in a one- person show. Students participate in group discussions in which significant works of art and periods of art history are analyzed. Museum field trips and talks with visiting artists(teachers) are arranged.

Studio Art, Advanced Placement A - (1/2 credit, single period - 1 credit, double period)
Prerequisite: I credit of Fundamentals of Art and I additional credit in Art

Studio Art, Advanced Placement
1/2 credit (1/2 credit, single period - 1 credit, double period)

Prerequisite: Attainment of the outcomes for Advanced Placement Studio Art A
This individualized program concentrates on art projects that demonstrate the competencies expected of advanced placement art applicants as identified by the College Board. Student may choose to concentrate on a 2D or 3D design, or a drawing portfolio.

Portfolios are assembled to meet the submission requirements for either general art or drawing credit. Students may earn a maximum of three credits through any combination of the courses listed.
